Parcel Delivery To EU Countries from UK after Brexit - VAT and duties rules change 1 July 2021
Dear EU backpack users, this is information about online orders from the UK delivered to EU countries. Is it safe to order online from the UK to EU after Brexit? Will I have to pay extra VAT and duties to the EU?
You will be able to order RiutBags on www.riut.co.uk before and after Brexit. This is what is changing: addressees receiving RiutBag parcels in the European Union will pay VAT and duties on deliveries from 1 July 2021 onwards.
To avoid extra VAT and duties, I suggest placing your order before 17 June 2021.
Parcels arriving before 1 July 2021
Delivery of online orders between now and 1 July 2021 is free of VAT. It takes two extra days to process orders as they cross the EU border. When you order from www.riut.co.uk your parcel is delivered straight to your address with no extra paperwork or fees at your end.
Until 1 July 2021, on www.riut.co.uk we offer VAT-free and duty-free online delivery from the UK delivering to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
Parcels arriving after 1 July 2021
You can continue to buy your RiutBag online at www.riut.co.uk and receive RiutBags in the EU. For all parcels arriving after 1 July 2021, VAT (between 19% and 22% depending on the country) and duties will be payable by the addressee. You will be informed by your customs office how to make VAT and duties payment.
