"Can You Help?" Doctor's Plea from a Covid-Positive Ward

Inspiration for the easy-clean RiutBag®+ came when Dr Velasco, working at the peak of the pandemic, contacted Riut: “New Covid regulations at work mean I can’t take my normal backpack into the hospital because we can’t disinfect it. I’m currently carrying my belongings in a plastic bag. Can you help?”

From her studio in lockdown, RiutBag designer Sarah Giblin started prototyping using Dr Velasco’s user case as her guide. After giving feedback on the prototype, he said, “I can’t believe the big response to my message. Thank you for listening and for this design.”
